SPORTQuest
This free site from the Canadian producers of the database SPORTDiscus  (SIRC) offers a thorough directory of sport information.  It is searchable by sport or by topic, including Sport Science.   There is information here on the Olympics, sports associations and international conferences.  The Statistics section appears to be historical rather than completely current.

Human Kinetics
Categories in Sports Medicine, Dance, Recreation, Aquatics, and Health and Fitness complement the Sports and Sport Sciences areas. Job postings in HPER are listed.  Although this is a textbook publisher's site, much valuable information is organized for faculty, students and fitness buffs

Alternative Health News Online
A well organized site that leads you to recent topics in the sections: What's New, Health News Bulletins, and Wellness News. Or you can browse for information through the topic categories: diet, mind/body, longevity, manual healing, healthy living. The material is excellent and so are the links under Cool Resources.
American Heart Association
This site offers "comprehensive information on heart disease and stroke as well as late breaking news."

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The U.S. government agency responsible for monitoring health issues of national interest. Included are basic disease information, health statistics, and frequently consulted section on Traveler's Health.
CenterWatch
The CenterWatch Clinical Trials Listing Service site offers a variety of information related to clinical trials and is useful as a resource for patients interested in participating in clinical trials and researchers

This site is the U.S. government's gateway to consumer health and human services information. It offers links to "selected online publications, clearinghouses, databases, web sites, and support and self-help groups, as well as the government agencies and not-for-profit organizations that produce reliable information for the public."

Health science librarians of the Committee for Institutional Cooperation (CIC) schools have developed this site to provide information about their libraries, links to evaluated health-related Internet sources (from AIDS to Women's Health) and related information.

Center for Science in the Public Interest
"The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is a nonprofit education and advocacy organization that focuses on improving the safety and nutritional quality of our food supply ... promoting health through educating the public about nutrition and alcohol; ...representing citizens' interests before legislative, regulatory, and judicial bodies."
