Computer and Internet Policy
	The primary mission of the Watson Library is to provide research materials to the students of Wilmington College in support of the classroom curriculum. Its secondary mission is the provision of these same resources to the local community, as well as visiting scholars and students. Thus Community Borrower status is available to those 18 years and older.
	Internet usage is restricted to Wilmington College students, faculty, and staff, and those who have successfully registered at the Library Circulation Desk for Community Borrower status.
	Community students under the age of 18 may use the internet for research purposes if:
	1) accompanied by a parent or
	2) having successfully registered for short-term research permission at the Circulation Desk.
	The Watson Library exists for educational, not recreational purposes, thereby distinguishing itself as an Academic Library rather than a Public Library. Watson Library prohibits the use of chat rooms and video games. Patrons wishing to gain internet access for such recreational uses are directed tothe Wilmington Public Library.
